Novotel Dinner Farewell

Corsages pinned to the veterans by RAF Officials:
Flight Lieutenant David Irvine and Flight
Sergeant Andy Burrows
So the Bomber Command tour commences.
A most convivial evening with family and business associates kicked off the tour at the Novotel hotel.

Three of the tour vets gave brief but personal and
insightful accounts of some of their War time
experiences.

Des Hall shares some recollection
From crashing a Lancaster into a
hanger before take - off and tough hospital experiences....

The veterans and RAF Officials are joined by
Lt. Col. Tim Woodman, Defence Adviser
to the British High Commission in Wel
Where being well was not an advantage.

The shock of being an engineer in control of a Lancaster without having a clue of what was required.

The drama of flying through flak and the experience of an emergency landing because of fuel shortage to find the tanks are full.

A privilege to hear these stories and be on tour with people who have seen so much and experienced so much.

The men look spiffing in their new woolen coats bearing the TMNZ and Bomber Command insignia.
