Day 3 Resting in Hong Kong

Eating in Hong Kong
Our first full day in Hong Kong began with another substantial breakfast with a selection of foods ranging from mussels and salads to the more acceptable miso soup or rice and soy porridge. Most of us opted for cereal and a version of cooked breakfast.

Our tour coach arrived just before lunch and took us to the cable car up to the Peak. Our friendly guide, Anna, talked us through the bus journey and kept us informed of everything from the history of HK to the four wives of the mogul of Macau and his gambling empire.

The cable car ride was exciting enough with extraordinary views over the city and fascinating glimpses into buildings under construction with the very handy bamboo scaffolding which would no doubt cause consternation to a NZ OSH observer.
At the top of The Peak-On top of the world!

Lunch was had at a very nice restaurant at the top of Victoria Peak, the views weren't as spectacular as hoped as the air was a little 'thick'. Into the bus and another constant commentary from Anna on healthcare, housing, height of buildings and history.

We arrived at the Stanley Bay market and had a stroll about the stalls and small shops. Back into the thankfully air conditioned bus and back to the hotel in time for yet another substantial buffet meal with some recognizable and some unidentifiable food stuffs.

All good fun and great variety. The meal finished with a birthday cake for the birthday boy, Harry, and a reasonably rousing version of happy birthday. Tomorrow, to London.
